The ultimate cynicism.

October 15, 2007

Talk about the ultimate cynicism! The promise to hold a referendum to put our indigenous brothers on the preamble to the constitution sure takes the cake! Imagine the joy, the relief, the dancing and singing as the full implication of the PM’s generous offer sinks in.

Sure we don’t have jobs, or decent houses,or running water. Sure our life expectancy is years less than anyone else’s. Sure we don’t have proper medical services and a lot of us are drunk most days because of the conditions we have to put up with, but what the heck , were on the preamble! Bully for us!

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER CROOK POLL FOR GRANDPA.

When will John Howard get the message. We aren’t interested anymore. We don’t believe him. We don’t trust him. Any bit of pork barreling he puts our way we’ll gratefully accept, but we know why we’re getting it, and it won’t change our vote. All we want him to do is to get out of Kirribilli House ASAP so that the seat of Government can return to Canberra and at least save some of what that squat’s cost us all in the last ten years.

Some of his gifts are downright bizarre. Take the $1million he’s giving so we can celebrate Christmas in November.
His advertising obviously isn’t working. Nobody in their right mind would believe all those “Work Choices” ads., which assure us that the workforce is much better off now than it was before. Why not give all those millions to hospitals or public schools so that the sick and the kids will be more “relaxed and comfortable.”

Leave John! Enjoy your retirement drying the dishes for Janette and doing a spot of gardening around Wollstonecraft. Get a bag of golf clubs. You’ll have to do without the photo opportunities, but the plus side is that you won’t have to kiss snotty babies either.
